The definition of a good husband!

I can't believe that it has already been a week since our wedding. It seems that it has flown by!!! I can't be any happier than I have been and I give it all to my wonderful Husband. I want to dedicate this post to him because without him I wouldn't be the person I am at this current moment. Let me give you some background information to better help you understand. About a year ago I was in a bad place, having a bad spout of depression. I knew God and I knew he would help me but to say the least my relationship with him was lacking. I am so lucky to have had my father and family by my side at the moment and the days got better but I was never fully myself. On June 1st I started talking to this amazing man on eHarmony that had such a wonderful relationship with God and was even getting his degree in Biblical Studies! From that moment I wanted to know more about him and how to have a stronger relationship with God. He knew I had been wanting a better relationship with God so he helped me daily. He would always ask me if I did my "quiet time" which is my time to study the bible and talk with God and then each and every night we would pray...To tell you the truth thats how we are here today MARRIED! Without constant prayer and asking God to show us the way we would not be in the place we are today. Then when we finally met in person since we lived 1000 miles apart and it only put in motion my faith and each day I grew closer to Morgan and God. There is never a time we don't pray before we eat whether its aloud or to ourselves. And to this day we have our "quiet time" and for my wedding present Mr. Guse bought me 3 books worth of Bible Studies which I could not be more excited about. But the point of me writing this blog post is to state that a good Husband is not only one that protects, loves, cares, and supports you but one that helps you grow in every aspect of life. I cannot thank Morgan enough for helping me become closer to God each and everyday. As we say to each other God is the glue to our Marriage and if we grow with God our Marriage will always grow and flourish. Morgan Lloyd Guse is not only My Wonderful Husband, My Best Friend, My Caretaker, My Help Mate but most importantly one of my Heros! He has brought a whole new light into my world which is God and I can tell you that it has helped me through out  the past 6 months tremendously and I know it will for the rest of my life. So thank you My Morgan for helping me in such a way that I could never repay you! I love you to the moon and back.

Todays scripture:

1 John 3:14 New International Version (NIV)

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death

I now prononce you Husband and Wife!

February 13th, 2012 was the best day of my life. Not only because I became a Wife that day but also because a new chapter started that day. I can't tell you my exact feelings throughout the day because they were changing every second but I can tell you I was in a state of bliss that words could never begin to describe. That day I not only proclaimed my love in front of the people I love the most and are dearest to my heart but I always vowed my everlasting love in front of God and my new husband. Everyone asked me right after the wedding if I felt any different. I couldn't say I did. It was kinda of like when its your birthday and people ask you if you feel any older. I knew something was different but in my heart it never really changed. See since day one I had always seen Morgan as my other half and my soul mate and by marrying him it was me proclaiming my love for him. Sure there were things that a husband and wife had after marriage but as far as the heart was concerned it wasn't totally different. I am not only blessed or happy I am his Wife but honored. Honored to wake up beside him every morning to say I love you and wish him a good day at work. Honored to sit with him every night and just talk about lifes problems. Honored to do the household duties as a Wife such as laundry and unpacking the endless boxes. But mostly honored to just know that I am the one person he will come home to, that he will always have beside him no matter what. If you are one of those people that have given up on love or believe life doesn't have a happy ending I have news for you.Life may not be easy and at times it can be rough but when you least expect it, it gives you the sweetest gift you could ever dream of. I look down at the two rings on my ring finger and thank God for the wonderful blessing he has given me each and every day.
Today's Scripture:

Genesis 2:23 New International Version (NIV)

 23 The man said,
   “This is now bone of my bones
   and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
   for she was taken out of man.”

New Year Resolutions! 2012

Well another year has come and gone and I can't help but say it has been quite a year. I have found the man of my dreams, I am now engaged and soon to be married, moved to another state, made new friends, and I am closer to God then I have ever been. I am so blessed and lucky words can't even begin to express my happiness. With that being said I can also say that my heart aches and will always be missing a piece. I dearly miss my brother Shawn but will always hold him close to my heart. I know that he is looking down on all of us and smiling. With another year gone and a new one arriving, I can't help but think it has gone by too quickly but that only makes me realize that this year I need to cherish everything around me more and be grateful for the blessings that I have. In 2012 I plan to become closer to God, be happy with the things that I have, and never go a day without telling my loved ones how much they mean to me. The Lord has blessed me abundantly and I vow to never forget that. I pray everyone has a blessed New Year!

Today's Scripture: Proverbs 4: 18-27
The path of the righteous is like the morning sun,
   shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
   they do not know what makes them stumble.
 20 My son, pay attention to what I say;
   turn your ear to my words.
21 Do not let them out of your sight,
   keep them within your heart;
22 for they are life to those who find them
   and health to one’s whole body.
23 Above all else, guard your heart,
   for everything you do flows from it.
24 Keep your mouth free of perversity;
   keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
25 Let your eyes look straight ahead;
   fix your gaze directly before you.
26 Give careful thought to the[c] paths for your feet
   and be steadfast in all your ways.
27 Do not turn to the right or the left;
   keep your foot from evil.

Santa has come and gone....

So it is the day after Christmas and I could not feel more blessed! Even though my heart deeply misses my family back in Texas, I can't help but thank God for the family that I have here. Everything seems to be falling in place and I can see Gods hand in every aspect of my life. There have been many changes in the past few weeks and I am so very excited. I am so very blessed that I have such a great support system and such wise people to go to for advice. I am looking forward to the next few months as my life will be changing dramatically in an amazing way. I praise God for his grace and even though Christmas has past, I will always remember that Jesus is the reason for every season.

Today's Scripture: 15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.

The Georgia Life!

So here I am...about 3 weeks into my second trip to Georgia. Got to say I am loving it so far. There have been a few mishaps but nothing that threw me for too much of a loop. I have learned to have lots of time on my hands and how to fit into the Georgia life. I really don't mind all the cooking and cleaning and waiting around doing homework. I am just another girl trying to get into the groove of things and make friends along the way. The wedding planning on the other hand always stumps me lol. Whether figuring out the photographer or the DJ was to be an easy task....IDK because I still have NOOOO clue. At least I have Christmas to have my mind on and all the wonderful things it has to bring. The Birth of our Dear Savior, and even though I am far away from my amazing family at home. They are closer to my heart then ever. Plus I have a wonderful and caring family here so it helps a whole bunch. I look forward to the next upcoming week. Having 5 whole days with my Boo Bear will be a sure treat and the fact that it is for Christmas makes it amazing. Well I think that is all for now. I really need to try and Blog more even if it is not everyday. I have no clue what God has in store for me in the future but I do know what is for dinner. Cowboy Casserole! YUMMY. And it was so easy. I shall write it down here and share the blessing of good food. :)
Cowboy Casserole
adapted from a recipe at Taste of Home
1 1/2 pounds ground beef (I used 80/20)
1 medium onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 can (15.25oz) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons sour cream
1 bag (30 oz) frozen tater tots (I used Ore-Ida Crispy Crowns)

Before I got ready to make this casserole, I let the Crispy Crowns sit on the counter to defrost for an hour or so. The original recipe used still frozen tater tots, but I felt they wouldn't cook as well if they were still frozen solid.

In a large skillet cook the onion until tender and translucent. Add the chopped garlic and cook for 1 minute more. Add the beef and cook over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain the mixture and place into a large bowl and set aside.

In a small bowl combine the soup, milk and sour cream. Whisk until smooth. Add to hamburger mixture and stir to combine. Add corn and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Gently mix to combine.

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. Layer half of the Crispy Crowns on the bottom, pour the hamburger mixture over the top and then layer with the other half of the Crispy Crowns. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese and bake at 350 for 25 - 30 minutes, or until golden brown and crunchy.

Today's Scripture:  1 Peter 2:23
 23 When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. 24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” 25 For “you were like sheep going astray,”[f]but now you have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

So here goes nothing...

I figured I would finally go ahead and start a blog and journal my day to day adventures. From cooking, to moving, to planning a wedding!  My life only seems to get more crazy but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love the way my life has been created. With God, the love of my life, and my family rooting for me. Who could be against me? At least no one that matters. Well there is my first post and I plan to end every post with scripture since that is what holds me together.
Today's Scripture: My all time favorite verse, Psalm 23.

 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
 3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
   for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
   through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
   for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
   they comfort me.
 5 You prepare a table before me
   in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
   my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
   all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
   forever.
